Some of my favorite creators and some of my creative friends…
I have a strong belief in supporting the work of my friends and/or those who have in some way touched my life and heart. I am very blessed to be surrounded daily by incredibly talented people from all walks of life. Creators need support. There are many ways that we create our world as individuals. Below are some people that I have had the privilege and opportunity to know, work with on some level, or interact with at some point in my life. There are MANY, MANY more. I hope that you will check out these fabulous individuals and their work. Support their art, books, films, music, and other projects. Check out what they offer. I have learned something and discovered something new through each of these people in some way! Cheers!
Check out my friend Andria’s website and all of her fine art. She is an AMAZING artist. Years ago we did a show together. A little play called The Owl and the Pussycat. She is an incredibly gifted, multi-talented artist!
Adrienne is a talented actress and a terrific person. Some of you will remember her as Eve in Xena or you might be catching her these days in Venice: The Series or in the new feature film RAZE. She actually has a lot of irons in the fire. You can find out about them all at her website. For my theater and actor friends, I highly recommend her blog. It’s very witty and engaging.
Anne is an indie recording artist and musician. If you enjoy a folk-rock sound that includes poetic lyrics you will enjoy Anne’s music. We collided as people do on the streets of Provincetown; an exercise that seemed to keep repeating. I had the opportunity to see one of her shows. I hope you will check out her website and her music!
Aj is a wonderful lady and a talented author. She also hosts a terrific blog where wshe features interviews with other authors. Check out all of AJ’s books and writing at her website!

Cindy’s first novel Exception to the Rule is one of the best pieces of lesbian fiction I have read, sincerely. I recommend it to everyone I know. She just released her second novel Love is Enough! Not only is she a talented and insightful writer, she is a compassionate human being. We share a view that we have social responsibilities as people and as creators and I am quite proud to have gotten to know her a bit this year. Please check out her work!
The Coach For You
Check out my friend Stacey’s website and life coaching services. We have known each other since…well, since before SOME people visiting this site were even a thought! Stacey has a varied background in the arts and hold degrees in film, non-profit management and depth psychology. She is a talented creator and even hosts her own radio show here in Connecticut! Check out her site!
Dee is an actor in Los Angeles, California. You have likely seen her on one of your favorite television shows. We met performing a mutual friend’s live radio play this past spring. Dee is full of life, loves what she is doing, and is immensely talented. Check out her website and her IMDB page for more information and to see her projects!
What can you say about Dustin? Dustin is a model and actress in California. I had the good fortune to meet Dustin this summer and was immediately drawn to her humor and outgoing personality. Dustin has all sorts of interesting things going on, from hosting modeling competitions, to videos, to film and television. Check out her IMDB page and see what she is up to – and CHECK out her projects!
I met Gail when I was managing the bookstore at Wesleyan and her book Cancer is a Bitch came out. She was visiting her daughter and we hosted a book signing for her. She is incredibly witty, talented, and very engaging. Her website is fabulous and I highly recommend her book! Please check it out!
Well, if you could roll genuine, talented, introspective and feisty into one, Hudson Leick would be the result. All I can say is that everyone I have met that comes in contact with Hudson leaves with a lasting impression. More than her creative work, her spiritual journey and her honesty have touched so many. Please check out her website. She is the real deal, folks-not some disingenuous imitation. She is raw and and fallible and honest in her imperfections. I would call it refreshing. She offers readings, spiritual counseling and yoga instruction and retreats. Please check out her site!!
Isabella is an award winning author, the owner of Sapphire Publishing, and a good friend. I have personally enjoyed every book of Isabella's that I have read; almost as much as I enjoy her company as a human being. Her stories have rich characters and interesting plots. I encourage you to check out her books as well as Sapphire's offerings. In the last year, there are a few people in the lesbian fiction community that have stood out as ambassadors. Isabella is one and I am pleased to support her work, and proud to call her a friend.
Jimmy and the Hat Tricks
This band is lucky to have my friend Eddie Bast behind the drum kit. I've known Eddie since we were kids. He was banging the drum back then and I was whining away on my saxophone. He stayed with his passion. I recently saw him perform with another group. He is AWESOME! Check out the band's website for local performances in Connecticut. They are also an extremely popular wedding band.
Karin and I go back just a bit. She was a student then. Now she is a talented photographer with her own business. If you live in Connecticut, Karin offers all different types of photographic services. Please check out her page. Not only is she talented, she will put you at ease. Working with her is guaranteed to be a positive experience!
Karoline is an amazing artist (and human being). She specialized in in 2D concept art, with a keen interest in animation and poster art, as well as a basic knowledge of 3D modeling and sculpting. PLEASE check out her site!!
Lauren does so many different things it makes my head spin! She’s a motivational speaker, a filmmaker, and an event producer. I suppose you could call her a force of nature. If you don’t believe me – check out her website!
I confess, I have not worked with Lisa. She is one of the many people I have met through my friend and coach, Pina. Lisa is a fascinating person. She centers her work on helping people reach within. I have no doubt that the experience of working with her as a coach and mentor would be rewarding. This year, she has put together a terrific program called The Legacy Series. I'm blesssed to know a few of the people she has interviewed. Each discusses what they would like their legacy to be. One thing I admire about Lisa is the diversity of people she surrounds herself with. Check out her website. (AND, follow her! She writes some wonderfully insightful blogs for The Huffington Post as well)
Matt Aaron Lucas
Matt is just starting out in his acting career, but I would suggest that you keep your eye on this IMDB page. He has some exciting things coming down the pike. I am so grateful to call Matt a friend. He simply lights up any room, and frankly any heart. I am looking forward to watching him grow and soar. Check out his IMDB page – and look at the face! How could you not want to watch Matt??
Mary D. Brooks
I am just starting Mary’s books. I had the good fortune to have a mutual friend introduce us. What a wonderful person! We share a few things in common, not the least of which is a love of writing and a deep affection for a warrior princess and a battling bard and their journeys. PLEASE check out Mary’s site and her writing!
My dear friend, Mark is the keyboardist and a vocalist in Max Creek. Let me tell you these guys are SO talented. They have been touring all over the world for more than 40 years and have played with some of the best in the music industry. Seeing Max Creek is an experience you won’t soon forget! Their followers are dedicated and a blast to watch a show with! Check them out!

If you are looking for quality, affordable editing services I recommend checking out Nikki's site and contacting her.
Pina De Rosa
I cannot say enough about my coach, Pina. She is a wonderfully gifted and compassionate woman who has guided me into an entirely new phase in my life. Pina will tell you that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do about it. Ironically, her presence in my life falls into BOTH categories! Pina is a coach, a motivational speaker, and a filmmaker. If you are ready to put your life and your dreams into ACTION, I recommend speaking with Pina. You can learn more about her and her services at her website. If you are looking for an engaging motivational speaker I recommend contacting Pina as well. Sniffing out Cancer Documentary
My friend Chris Huestis owns this unique place in our hometown. We’ve come a long way since trekking around a football field together in the eighties…playing the theme from Magnum PI in marching band! Chris’s studio offers all types of photography services from restoration and framing, to repairs and workshops. Photo Synthesis also houses a gallery that displays rotating exhibits of fine art photography. Check out the website and if you are local head on down and take a look!
Playstorming is the brain child of my friend Shawn Utterback and is based in Austin, Texas. Shawn and I both have backgrounds in comedy and improv (though we have never worked together). Shawn has a background both in performance and in the corporate world of marketing. Playstorming combines his experience and utilizes improv and play as a way to promote team building and enhance training. Check it out. It is an innovative concept with a great deal of potential.
This is my good friend Peter’s newest endeavor. Peter is a creative soul with a sense of humor that has kept me laughing for years! Please check out his work!!
Roxanne and KL are award winning writers of lesbian fiction whose work includes the novels Switching Gears and Ladysmith. They are also the authors of the popular series of novellas featuring Chase and Rowan on Amazon. Please check out their work!
Most of you know Renee from Xena. Renee has lots of irons in the fire. You can learn more about her endeavors at her website. You can also find ways to support her projects including the documentary she is currently working on about her Awareness mentor and friend Mary Rocamora. On a personal note, my experience working with Renee through Awareness was life altering. She'll tell you that s the work, not her (much like my friend and coach, Pina). I say the work is the race car. Every race car needs a talented and capable driver. I give credit where credit is due. I hope you will check out Renee's site - and support whatever projects she puts into the world. She's a lot more than someone who was on a TV show; she's a terrific human being.
I had the good fortune to be able to attend an Awareness Seminar this past November in Austin. The work is not for everyone, but it has benefited me immensely and is something I plan to continue with. If you are interested I suggest you check out the school’s site. Many people that visit here will know about this because of Renee O’Connor. Renee is someone who benefited from Mary’s work and so she is passionate about bringing it to others. It is a personal journey and a daily process and this is the best place to learn more about what Awareness really is.
Wendy just released her first novel To Die For and it is wonderful! Many readers will be familiar with Wendy’s popular Xena-Uber fan fiction series featuring CJ and Kate. I love Wendy’s characters. I am also blessed to call Wendy a friend. I hope that you will check out her work. I know she will have many more great stories to share in the future!
